Ipswich Renal Unit

The purpose-built Ipswich Hospital Renal Unit operates a nineteen-station dialysis unit, that runs six days a week, with three patient shifts a day. It also runs a home peritoneal dialysis programme and trains and manages patients at home on haemodialysis.

How to get to the Ipswich Unit

From A14 (from Cambridge) or A12 (from London)…continue on A14 eastbound, signposted towards Felixstowe.

Once over the Orwell Bridge, take the next exit - signposted to the hospital. Continue to follow the signs to the hospital.

Afterabout 1.5 miles, the main entrance to the hospital is on your left (ata set of traffic lights). Travel PAST the main entrance to the nextroundabout. At the roundabout turn left.

Follow the road round and shortly after the roundabout take the back entrance to the hospital (Woodbridge Rd entrance).

Once in the hospital grounds, turn right and follow the road round over a number of speed bumps. The renal unit is towards the end of this back road, on the left.

There is an active patient support group - Ipswich and District Kidney Association - IDKA.
