Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

The renal unit at the Countess was opened in January 2006 and is a modern, comfortable building designed with a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere in mind. It is part of a renal outpatient department that includes home therapies, outpatient clinics and an intravenous iron programme.

When receiving dialysis treatment at the Countess you will be able to relax in comfort while reading, chatting to patients and staff as well as catching up on the latest TV by watching one of our plasma televisions that are positioned around the unit. Complimentary drinks and snacks are also available.

The new unit has 17 stations enabling up to 76 patients a week to receive their dialysis locally. Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 07.30 until 13.00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 13.30 until 19.00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 19.30 until 01.00 (Twilight shift) Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: 07.30 until 13.00 Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: 13.30 until 19.00

Twilight shifts are ideal for patients who have work commitments and are not able to attend sessions during the day
